Developing speaking skill learning materials based on Natural Order Hypothesis

The literature on the teaching of English at higher education in Indonesia reflects that both and non-English departments pay equal attention to four language skills, namely speaking, listening, reading, writing. However, there are still issues speaking skills especially instruction for majors. This research tried solve using interventions form learning materials focused based Natural Order Hypothesis by Brown (1973), Burt (1974, 1975), Krashen (1982, 2009, 2013) as well lesson plans used majors a state university Yogyakarta. were validated subject experts field trial involving participants 30 department students was conducted. effectiveness measured instrument had been pilot-tested 10 respondents same backgrounds trial. utilized Sugiyono’s (2015) formula with results showing percentage 86.37 out possible 100%, which means category ‘highly acceptable’.
